Indow has spent over a decade advancing our removable window inserts to improve the performance of old windows. Indow inserts press into the window frame and stay in place without the need of any mounting hardware. Our patented silicone compression tube keeps window inserts in place instead of hardware like tracking. This provides a tight seal, blocking out drafts. Watch as Indow CEO and founder Sam Pardue demonstrates installing our first generation Indow inserts, or read the provided transcript.

Sam Pardue:

This is an Indow window. It’s a sheet of acrylic glazing that’s edged with our patented spring bulb. The spring bulb compresses when you push it into place on the inside of your window frame.

Installation is really easy, you just square the Indow window insert up on the window frame and then you press it into place. Just like that, in just a few seconds I upgraded the thermal performance of this window from a leaky single-pane to a standard double-pane.

We’re in my kitchen now and I wanted to tell you a little bit more about how Indow window inserts work. The first thing is each Indow window insert is custom cut to go into the window frame it’s designed for.

We come in and we measure very carefully your window frame and then we make the Indow window slightly larger so that when it’s pressed into place the spring bulb compresses around the entire perimeter. And that’s what gives the Indow window the force to stay in place without any nails, screws or adhesives. It’s just a matter of pushing the window into place. Very easy. And the spring bulb causes the Indow window insert to have a nice tight seal against your window frame and that’s what keeps all those cold drafts out.

It might be hard to see but I actually have an Indow window insert installed in this window. The low-profile design almost disappears when you install it in your window.

The Indow window insert gets its great thermal performance because it creates an air pocket in between your single-pane window and your Indow window insert. You can see here the bulb is really tight along the edge of the window frame and that’s what seals out those cold drafts.

Another benefit is that they keep moisture away from your windows. Here in the kitchen we can be boiling soup and cooking lots of food that creates a lot of steam that can condense on your single-pane windows and that can cause problems if it runs down and gets into the wood, it can actually rot out your windows. But Indow window inserts keep all that moisture away from your single-pane windows and protect them.

Indow inserts are so easy to install that we can come in and do the initial installation in just a couple of hours. You can go out for a cup of coffee and when you come home your house will be transformed. Much more comfortable and you’ll be saving lots of money.
